Recording, taping

Mother of my good friend was a storyteller and she wrote down those stories, but later on she always had a small voice recorder handy so that she wouldn't miss a good story.
When we talk at the phone and I tell of my childhood, of my family and whatever I have found interesting, she listens attentively, but also often says 'you should put that on tape'.
Tonight I got really excited and started to explain to her something about my great grandparents' life here, when I said hey I've got the recorder right here, I'll turn it on!  Which is what I did, and I got a good story on the tape. I think I'll have the recorder handy from now on whenever we talk at the phone.
