a big job

Good weather to be in the garden today - no rain and not too cold, so we thought we’d tackle a big job. The clematis that we have growing all round the French doors and across the corner of the house was in dire need of a good trim. It had got too woody and too deep and for the last couple of years hadn’t produced many flowers. So I have cut it right back just leaving the thick trunk and the thick (intertwined with the trellis) branches. I’m hoping it recovers well. Ziggy loved it - he played in all that I was cutting off - rolling on his back and chewing up a few chunky bits. Mr I kept a fire going burning it all afternoon.
