Harpsichord

Double-manual harpsichord by Goermans/Taskin 1764/83

Out in the morning to fetch a newspaper; found snowdrops just coming out in Queen Street gardens, and early daffodils well on, though not flowering yet. No aconites though. The curtain fabric samples arrived, and there was just enough sunshine to review them in light as well as overcast.

Out again in the afternoon to St Cecilia's Hall - a15 minute walk. Full house, at least 150 people, for Virtuosity of the French Baroque on harpsichord, baroque flute (a modern copy) and baroque violin. Excellent musicianship. Georgia Brown talked about the background of the composers and the motivations for the works. Rain had gone off by the time we were walking back.
