Float like a Butterfly

A unique dry fly for fast river fly fishing called the Klinkhåmer Special was created by a special Dutchman called Hans van Klinken. He designed it to float like an iceberg with its bulk below the surface, whilst still visible and (unlike Titanic) also unsinkable. So unsinkable infact you can also suspend a wet fly nymph on line below to double your chances - a style popularly known as ‘Klink-n-Dink’.

These four are varients of this, tied by me for use tomorrow - using instead oily sheeps wool posts taken from farm barbed wire to make them even more bouyant. They are stored temporarily tonight in one of Mrs B’s old recycled Pia jewellery boxes (I have permission).

The plan is to fish for winter Grayling on the River Dee in Llangollen, Wales with my old fishing nemesis Kempy tomorrow. He has had a triple heart bypass late last year - and so this will be his first river fishing with me.

He always used to insist on a full cooked breakfast before we start fishing and a pint afterwards - but expecting perhaps a more healthy option tomorrow (But, knowing him so well, perhaps not!)
