Cousins

This morning we explored a series of trails around Encinitas past many grand and wonderful properties and many horse ranches, stables and horsey paraphernalia . It was so different from any other parts of Southern California.

This afternoon was spent cooking our Californian hosts and all the family an English roast dinner; rib of beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, sprouts and Yorkshire puddings. With apple pie and ice cream for desert. It was very well received.

There was time for a relaxing laze in the jacuzzi supported by a margarita or two before dinner. I was joined by Landon and his cousin who enjoyed the warm water.

A lovely family evening, one to treasure. Madison is a super content baby. However, it’s a difficult time for Carly’s sister and husband who had a son just as we arrived. He was premature and is struggling but stable in intensive care.
