Urban Sprawl

A long day in the city and a late night, so not many words. Cars and planes and helicopters, bricks and rendering and tangled wires, gates and fences and cobbled alleyways, the Co-Op round the corner, the hardware down the street, the supper brought to the door (Syrian cuisine, by chance, amid the alarming news)

The natural world adapts and endures: the robin singing as it watched us in the garden, buds breaking on the shrubs - profiting from the city warmth, and this noisy fly-past as the evening sky turned
