Conservation

This morning, a group of us carried out some practical  work on our local wildlife area. We did a bit of coppicing of hazel trees, and cleared this area of ivy and brambles to allow the native cowslips to grow through . We hope there are other interesting wildflower seeds in the soil, just waiting for spring,  but we also sowed some seedballs containing various wildflowers.
I am a bit concerned by the  effect this work may have had on the volunteers, given  the expressions on a few faces!!

In the afternoon, it was with some trepidation that I ventured to visit my Mother  in her Care Home, knowing she has been quite angry and disruptive over the past few days. However, she was in a good mood having just participated in a history quiz, and  we enjoyed  a stroll around the garden.
