Catkins

Afternoon walk out to the Goldenacre fields which were being rolled, so no bird life other than pigeons. Back by the bridge at Tanfield over the Water of Leith. Someone will know if these catkins are alder or hazel.

The river level is receding, showing a shale bank on the left and a tidied edge on the right. Water now at least 20cm below the rim of the storm drain which is under the catkin tree.
