Half-timbered house of the B & B Aunt Toos

Beautiful half-timbered house of the B and B of Tante Toos in Mamelis.
Mamelis (Limburgish: Mameles) is a hamlet in the South Limburg hills. The town consists of a number of houses, farms, and - located on a hill - the abbey St. Benedictusberg with the Kolmonderbosch behind it.

Mamelis is located at the foot of the wooded hill on which the Sint-Benedictusberg Abbey is located. Although the architecture of this monastery suggests that it is older, it was only built in 1923-1928.
The earliest known mentions of Mamelis date from the 13th century, local historians do not rule out that Mamelis may be even older
Until well into the twentieth century, a water mill was in operation in Mamelis: the Schoeërmolen. This mill is still there, but the wheel has been removed.
Mamelis is a protected village view.
The town has several half-timbered houses, mostly from the 18th century.
