Tongue out Tuesday

Little Merry is not doing so well. We have an appointment with her Liver Specialist tomorrow around noon. We are quite sure that her liver condition is progressing and not in the way we would have hoped for. As you can imagine, we are worried. I have a lot of anxiety around her health issues, so watching her get thinner while eating very well and her decreased activity is extremely upsetting. She also seems to have vision issues now as well which can accompany liver issues apparently. Our relationship with her has become quite frayed due to the three pills I administer each day to support her liver health. I've never had a cat that didn't trust me, so it is heartbreaking. We love her so very much, but she avoids us thinking we're going to catch her and administer the meds. I have to say, I'm a pro at popping the pills in and she, as a retired show cat is so well behaved once in hand. But, she is a brilliant animal and can read me and our body language like a book.

Rest assured, we will do the right thing for her if it comes to that. We have held on to other animals a bit too long and will never sacrifice her well being for our need to keep her close. I hope I am wrong, but she is not the same cat as she was. Sunny days help, but her activity levels and inquisitive Abyssinian traits are not as strong as they should be.

Just keep her and both of us in your thoughts. I'll never be over the loss of Raspberry in 2019. Merry was 4 when we adopted her, she will be 8 in May. Their little lives are so short, but the impact on our hearts is immeasurable.

For the Record,
This day came in bright and sunny with temps just above freezing. The birds are busy and several turkeys have been knocking on the door!

All hands begging for PEACE.
