Seeing double

There was a thick frost this morning and we had decided to defrost the small freezer in the garage. There was no problem keeping the contents cold but we needed to use some hot water to assist the ice to melt. A job that hasn’t been done very often as I realised when I washed the glass shelves and trays.
This afternoon we decided to do a walk which normally we can’t do at this time of year because it’s too muddy but it’s been dry for several days now and it was fine. Normally we see one or two swans in the fields but today we saw a gathering of 13 including this juvenile. In fact my eyes were seeing double at one point and I was seeing another one. It looks as though it’s going to be cold again tonight but we are enjoying these sunny bright days.
