Set against the pine end of the cottage

This spiny tree begins with these reddish leaf clusters and ends with creamy-pink or pinkly-creamy sprays of flowers every year. A little late getting under way this year (what isn't?) I am hoping that at least some of its five connected thorny trunks will be topped with flowers.
