Totem pole

Here’s the Prestonpans Totem pole, was carved out of Canadian redwood and erected in 2006.

It commemorates the battle in Prestonpans (1745), as well as some of the main features of the town, the brick represents the brickworks up the road, the teapot signifies the pottery industry and a fishing boats reference the seaside industry within the town.

There are some other totem poles dotted round the town, which I shall try and blip in due course.

I hope you are having a good weekend.
