In the Cellar

Eating out in Vila de Frades with Padre Luís, Cecílio and Ermelinda.
Might write more tomorrow, but for now, need to socialise!

Later... Apparently, this underground cellar was only discovered and restored recently; would be amazing in the summer, but was freezing tonight. This in the País das Uvas restaurant and winery, where the wine is made in these ancient clay amphorae. Here a short video of the process; we had one of these bottles, probably the best I've had so far - you can taste the clay from the pots, but not too much.

We also had beans with cardos - the central vein of a type of thistle (that grows on our Land). An elderly gentleman showed me, once, how to find and prepare them, but seems a lot of work for not much.

Gratefuls:
- being able to take communion in the beautiful Nossa Senhora d'Aire sanctuary
- chilling out (literally as well) at Padre Luís's house, with his six! dogs
- great meal together, chatting all sorts, and a safe drive home for us all
