Nature Diary... A Beautiful Spring-Like Day

It was such a mild day one could believe it was a month later.
The young Blackbird, also pictured a few days earlier, has grown in both size and in confidence with the result that he is no longer troubled by the once-alarming presence of a very large metal cockerel!  He hops about confidently now, collecting all the little pieces which drop from the bird feeders standing high up, way above his head. The morning sun was shining warmly on his lovely little face as I hastily reached for my camera and photographed him through a window. Unsuspecting, he carried on feeding confidently.

Around the garden a surprise miniature collection of Snowdrops has quietly appeared, and three brave collections of Osteospermums  are producing more and more blooms. They have all continued to produce a few flowers right throughout the winter.

Here's hoping we have no more  days of cold, wet, wild weather so all the young birds and emerging plants and flowers can continue to thrive.
