Sometimes I give my days marks out of 10 and today was definitely a 10.  We went to Wallington which is a National Trust estate in Northumberland.  It was a beautiful cool spring like day and there were snowdrops everywhere.  Next week they are inviting children and families to come and help them plant another 100,000 snowdrops.  700,000 have already been planted over previous years.

We did a walk around the estate and gardens and stopped for brunch - scrambled eggs on sourdough bread for me and a breakfast bap (egg, sausage and bacon) for Mr YB.  Delicious!

In 1942 (even though he had a son and heir) Sir Charles Trevelyan donated the house, estate and farmland to the National Trust.  He died in 1958.

I have attached a few extra photos.
