Snowdrops and Winter Aconites

This morning was a lovely cold, crisp and sunny day. I went out with the walking group and we had a lovely walk around the lanes from Selattyn. The countryside is beautiful around there but as it's such a hilly area I didn't dare stop to take photos as I'd then have to catch them up!

We passed this beautiful patch of winter aconite and snowdrops on a grass verge, they looked so pretty.

I also saw the body of a woodcock on the side of the road which is very sad as it's conservation status is red (most endangered).  I will report it to the county bird recorder and wildlife trust.  (Extra photo).
