the facts of life

the late Roald Dahl (author of charlie and the chocolate factory, james and the giant peach etc) told an anecdote that i heard recently about his school headmaster revealing the facts of life to his pupils that likened a boy's "organs" to a "light bulb" that would "burn too brightly" if handled and "deplete his batteries" prematurely.

the words in this blip are a quote from Dahl's story.

the diagram is from "foundations of wireless" (1943)
