Sunset

It was a lovely day and we went up 2 hills with friends near Foudland. The extra is taken on the Hill of Foudland, which was an area of slate mining that has left excavations at the top. There was a little snow and the prominent hill is The Buck. Our friends went home and we went up another Marilyn, Meikle Balloch Hill just east of Keith in the late afternoon. The light was very nice and the blip was taken on the way up looking west to Cooks Cairn and Corriehabbie Hill. Sadly the Muir burn has begun so there were plumes of smoke visible. The excuse for this is to ‘improve’ the vegetation for Grouse rearing and subsequent shooting; all it really does is create a monoculture and release CO2 into the atmosphere.
