Grimbergen Abbey

The Grimbergen Abbey was a Premonstratensian monastery in Grimbergen, Flemish Brabant, Belgium, established in 1128 in the place of an earlier foundation of Augustinian Canons.

In Holland Grimbergen is famous for their abbey brewed beer. Maybe thats why this town also has the first abbey beer museum in the world. The unique beer museum offers plenty of information about the origin and evolution of the Grimbergen Abbey Beer.

Neither of these two background information items were my reason to be abroad in Belgium. And..... stupid stupid stupid, without my nikon :-(
Neither was the current village fair, no... I was there to drink great Chardonnay and Cava wines and meet the nicest people ;-)

Well worth the six hour+ return drive due to Whitsunday holiday traffic jams .
Have a nice Whitsunday break!
