Formula One??

We've had a fun afternoon.

After much research earlier in the week I purchased 4 Michelin tyres on line a couple of days ago. From ASDA of all places. They had the best price and the offer of a £50 ASDA voucher. They also had a long list of suggested fitters. I chose Formula One Autocentres. With a name like that I thought they would be slick and quick. No such luck.

We arrived for our appointment at 2:30 to be told it would take 1½ to 2 hours. We weren't too happy about that but thought we had enough to do to fill the time. We walked to the paint mixing unit we found last year to get them to mix a small sample of a Dulux paint we had almost decided on for the hall, stairs and landing. They couldn't do it as they had run out of base, delivery due sometime today. No problem really as we walked down to Wickes and picked up another tester of the colour we wanted. Then on to Greggs for a hot chocolate and eclair, and a mooch around a few other shops. All this took about 90 minutes so we wandered back to the tyre place. The car was still on the forecourt, nothing had been done.

We complained of course and they apologised and said they would put two men on it straight away. They didn't of course. We waited in the viewing room and eventaully one mechanic brought the car in and did the job on his own. It took him an hour. Not quite Formula One standard. The only good thing was that the ramp the car was on was right next to the viewing window, so I got a blip for Abstract Thursday, the shapes of the lights in the viewing room reflecting in the viewing window, with the car on the ramp the other side. I reversed it so you can see the formula one logo.

Afterwards we had a KFC. I'd of course felt guilty about not treating mrsfb to a meal there for our anniversary.

Home now, and on the way the low tyre pressure warning light came on. It's done this a few times to be honest and every time the pressures have been OK.
