Mom's Medal. Leica/Lumix Macro-Elmarit 45mm

Yesterday, after emptying out a long-held safe deposit box, I discovered a small trove of family memorabilia.  Today's offering is a silver medal my late Mom was awarded when she was an art student at the Port Elizabeth Technical College in South Africa.  It is inscribed with her name and the year - 1940 - on the reverse side.  When there is so much fine detail to be recorded, the fabulous Macro-Elmarit is the lens for the job.  The medal resides in a little blue jewel box lined with black velvet.  There is a blue ribbon - just visible - which sits under the medal so that it can be removed without leaving finger prints on the silver.  BTW, Port Elizabeth is named Gqeberha these days.
