Sometimes it's just not pretty ...

One of my current pre-occupations is catching plants coming to life for the new season. It is always a wonder.

I only have one fern - a royal fern! It is still in the pot. The unfurling of ferns in spring is a delight, like a good stretch in the morning. I was looking forward to catching that. However, sometimes it isn't pretty.
