Beverley Minster

A collage of three images taken inside the Minster. The modern Pilgrim Sculptures and stained glass window by Helen Whittaker commissioned in 2004, and the oldest artefact in the church, the Saxon Fridstool or Chair of Peace. It is at least 1,000 years old and is one of only two left in the country, the other being at Hexham Abbey.  Anyone wanting to claim sanctuary from the law would sit in the chair.
