Went on a day trip to Edinburgh culminating in an event at the Scottish Poetry Library to celebrate the fact that the Scottish Author Nan Shepherd would have been 130 years old this week. She’s most famous for her book The Living Mountain which continuous to inspire people to get out on to the Cairngorm massif to this day. She also wrote three novels that should be read by anyone with an interest in Scottish Literature This quote from her is on a stone in the courtyard of the Writers’ Museum, just off Edinburgh’s High Street.
