Mhor

Lucky enough to receive a trip to Monachyle Mhor for our Christmas from H, N’s son.
It’s our favourite place, and our third trip didn’t disappoint.
Had a wee walk up behind Balquidder to catch the few albeit in the dreich. Mhor 84 for a hearty bowl of French onion soup then Checked in, lovely room, big bubble bath, the papers and a snooze.
Down to dinner, 9 courses!
Amuse bouche
Homemade bread
Cumbrae oyster in its own wee shell
Starter charred onion for me and scallops for he
Small cup of pumpkin and sweet potato soup
Main. Venison! Amazing
Dessert pear tart., with black garlic. Oooft
Cheeseboard: so many little tastes of different cheese and crucially, enough oatcakes
Lemon and ginger tea with petit foursThe only one I didn’t like was the oyster, virgin experience for me, and tasted like a slimy gulp of seawater. Not a fan
Otherwise, as ever, blown away by the flavours. So good.
Great chat with other guests, turned out we went to school together 48 years ago albeit differing years and she remembered my sister and me!

Rolled upstairs, no need for food for a week.
