Derwent Water from Castlehead

We arrived in our Keswick cottage this evening and took our normal first evening walk up to Castlehead. This amazing viewpoint is only about 15 minutes walk from the town and is the perfect antidote to a 4 hour drive up the motorway.

The weather is very cloudy with lovely atmospheric clouds hanging around the fell tops. It must have rained a lot here in the past few days as it's really wet and muddy everywhere. Hope Park is being prepared for the Keswick Mountain Festival triathlon tomorrow and is already a quagmire.

The weather is forecast to improve for the next few days and tomorrow we are going to Lake Windermere to marshall for the Windermere marathon.
