Budding

Chatted some more about family history research over breakfast then walked down with Winsford to meet annejohn at the Botanic gardens. She took us through a part we’d never been to before which was interesting, and we saw lots of signs of Spring about to burst through…bulbs pushing up fresh green leaves, almost open daffodils, fat flower buds on rhododendrons, as well as carpets of crocuses and snowdrops and a few fully flowering rhododendrons (which looked rather premature and a bit out of place).
We enjoyed some coffee, chat and pancakes for Shrove Tuesday before I walked back up to meet L for lunch. Oh gracious…..so much to catch up with, but some chinks of light about a better way forward. Will be very interesting to speak to W and S tomorrow.
Back home and took the car to the tyre place to check out my loss of pressure. Unfortunately ended up needing 3 new tyres….expensive!
Whilst I was at the garage Ad contacted me asking for a lift to the garden centre to buy a goldfish for his friend’s birthday (!). Because the garage took longer than we expected and the traffic was bad, despite a race across town we arrived when it was just closing so he couldn’t get the fish….very frustrating! I wasn’t pleased that maybe part of the reason we were late was because I took a wrong turn, but nevertheless it was a daft mission that I could have done without.
Home and got stuck into some more family tree stuff, starting to construct it on Ancestry whilst eating supper. Chatted to A on her way home about our Rome trip…excited! She was also beside herself with the news of Hamilton coming to Edinburgh and tickets soon being released.
