Up a tree without a ladder...

Ginger the cat has been hanging about again. It was a lovely day on Friday and he appeared for breakfast and stayed the whole day. However, hearts were racing at one point as he chased a fly up one of the pollarded lime trees, about 18 high...and, yes, he was perched on the tip of the highest branch at one point! He scampered down the tree of his own accord at the sight of hubby approaching with a pair of ladders! At least we now know he can get up and down without assistance....and that all birdies should be on their guard!

Talking of birdies, there is a pair of waxwings fluttering about the neighbourhood. Does anyone know if this is unusual as I thought they were just winter visitors?
