Crocus Display

We went to Helmsley this morning…had a very nice breakfast and coffee in one of the cafés there, followed by a wander around the town….I say wander….but for me, it mostly involves standing around outside shops while Mrs madwill browses inside…

We then went on to Nunnington Hall, a National Trust property nearby. We walked around the gardens, there were plenty of spring flowers about - irises, aconites and snowdrops - and this fabulous display of crocuses (with a few snowdrops) on the riverbank.

After a fortifying cup of tea and fruit scone with jam and cream, we headed home. A rather nice sunny day to be out.

Sadly, after eating so much out today, tea tonight will just be soup and a bread roll.
