Drowned Rat

We took Jasper for a walk down a path that runs alongside the local beck. We also had with us Tilly, a six month old Springer Spaniel belonging to Bob and Laura down the road.

Tilly is daft as a box of frogs and jumped in the beck and climbed out again several times. Jasper, the supposedly older and wiser dog, decided for the first time that this looked fun and that he would like to jump in the beck too... except (a) instead of the beautiful clear running water that Tilly prefers, Jasper jumped in the stretch that has an inch of scum floating on it, and (b) Jasper couldn't get himself out! Cue worried owners, a rescue mission by Ann and a very bedraggled and filthy dog.

Oh, and I think Ann will probably post a similar blip, it was the most photographable thing we both saw all day...
