The Weaving Shed, Imperial Mill, Blackburn

Thursday afternoon's visit was to the Weaving Shed, Imperial Mill, Blackburn. The shed is entered via the door to the left of the photo and is a single story building compared to the main mill which is 4 story. The new owner has been refitting it for use as a handling plant for salting category 3 hides and then for use as a store for the treated hides.

It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1929's and production finished in 1958. Both the mill and the weaving shed were made grade II listed buildings in 1974.
