Cracking Up

There was a crack in the snow running round the lake shore today. As I stood pondering it, I could hear the lake moaning as the ice shifted. It wasn't that windy so I wondered what might be causing it to move.

Walking out to the edge was tricky because the snow had frozen solid and could take my weight without breaking. I was concerned about slipping, especially on the steeper areas.

I tried to work with the cracks and rocks, looking for interesting shapes and lines. In mono the rock texture became evident.
