The Cloud Bank…..

It looked beautiful but ominous…. Heavy rain perhaps? Or even thunder? It crept up from over the distant Wither Hills. I photographed the cloudbank looking up a neighboring road. Then it reached our area and spread out without a whimper, let alone thunder. I didn’t know if I should feel disappointed or relieved. We had 11mm of rain in the rain gauge overnight… But North Canterbury to the south of Marlborough had torrential falls today. More than enough to alleviate the drought conditions in that part of the South Island. The weather is crazy here at present. Our thoughts go to the Cyclone devastated areas of the North Island.
