Clear Water

After Mass we motored to West Bay for some clean air and a stroll.  The water in the harbour looked beautifully clear, as evidenced by the leaf under this racing gig in the water.

We found a chap with a 1970 Alfa Romeo Guilietta (Guilia) 1750 parked by the promenade (but I failed to ask for a photo).  In around 1979 I had a Alfa Romeo GT1600 Junior, a similar model, but which I allowed to deteriorate with rust and blowing valves.  I re-ground the exhaust valves but I couldn't re-assemble the engine with the right timing and I couldn't afford to pay a garage to do it for me, so I scrapped it.  Bad decisions I have made . . .

But the day was beautiful and the air rejuvenating, if a little chilly.
