PAD-058/365 The Unknown Bureaucrat

Yes, one can really wonder where one is going! Am I a true bureaucrat for the government or just an ordinary expert for the state.

Monument to the Unknown Bureaucrat is a statue by an artist named Magnus Tomasson and is one of the best known outdoor works in Reykjavík.
The idea behind the work stems from Magnus fascination with memorials to unknown soldiers, found in many cities throughout the militarized world. "Iceland has no army, but plenty of bureaucrats," he says, on the work's original conception. "I felt that the foot soldiers of government administration, those nameless, faceless agents who nevertheless exert great influence on the destinies of regular people, deserved a monument, too."
