horns of wilmington's cow

Fife Aurora

Technically this was last night's aurora, but this juuuuust tipped over past midnight. Earlier had been stronger (in the extras) - but I'd already posted the tractor (and in fairness that was a more momentous personal occurrence), by the time of this shot you could only make out a faint glow, the colours only becoming apparent on camera.

But earlier. Oh my. Proper pillars into the sky stuff. Definite green in the air, and just the faintest hint of the red.

I was waiting to see if this evening's show would be just as impressive, but... clouds....

However, been waiting for a show like this since we moved. Every time the numbers spiked we seem to have had cloud, or it's been 3 or 4am, and while I'm a night owl, that's pushing things even for me. But it just amazing to be able to walk 100 yards from our front door and have... this... (in truth we'd be able to watch from our bedroom window, but a little down the track it opens out to a panorama).
