sole serenader

This perky male House finch was singing his heart out this morning, but there was no response or competition. I tried to get a shot where his bill was open, but each time he sang he pointed his head up and all I got was a red feathered neck!
We are due for more snow this week, so I'm glad to hear signs that spring is on the way, too.
