The old water tanks

I was up the hill this afternoon and clambered past the decaying debris of the old water tanks.

The least decrepit of them was in daily use as a holding tank until we moved here in 1992 when we replaced it with newer settling and storage tanks. They were in their turn replaced by a mains supply about 15 years ago but the overflow still runs into the pond by the study .
