As you can see, the Bullfinch has a penchant for the soft buds of fruit trees.  In the past (and possibly even now, for all I know) this has meant that the bird was seen as a bit of a pest.  

In my limited experience it is quite a shy bird and not that easy to get close to, so I was pleased to get this shot of what is one of the UK's more striking looking birds.
