Conjunction

After acting as watch-out while Alex brush-cut the ride-side bramble at Thorpe Wood NR, I went for a late afternoon walk round Ferry Meadows, arriving just in time for the golden hour.

The north-easterly wind made it feel much colder than of late, but the sun didn't set until after 5.30 p.m. A Song Thrush was singing lustily and there was a huge gathering of corvids over the flood meadows, a swirling mass of dark shapes constantly calling to each other.

As the sky became darker Jupiter and Venus appeared in the almost cloudless sky. Two planets gradually creeping closer before they share a cosmic kiss on 1st March. If you view this in large you should just about be able to see them above the River Nene.
