Anatole's blips

Ski Krayzee!

There’s something about getting all the gear on - heavy boots, padded trousers, helmet and goggles - makes me feel like a complete hooligan!

Then that is starkly contrasted with us sneaking through the neighbours fence, fiddling about for half an hour just to get the  skis on and the gear all ‘comfortable’ whilst falling around in deep snow. Then we gingerly slithered down his field making slow and careful 8's, do some really poor telemark turns and ‘breakout’ onto the nearest ski run to test our turns in a very 'British' way. The lifts have stopped for the day, so whilst it's free, we have to walk back home up the piste, clumping along in our monster boots.

P.s. Please bear in mind, that we normally cross-country ski, so are used to wearing rather less. Also, we have not been on skis since the pandemic hit, so were feeling a bit rusty. But the first test has been passed without injury, so we feel emboldened to try a real afternoon's skiing in the next few days. Woooo!
