The Bestest Day

Today was our AGM for the Friends of Old Government House, and I reckon I cracked a world record.  All the work had been done before hand, all the reports had been sent out, the President's Report was shot and to the point.  There were no new nominations, so everyone was elected that should be elected - and it was all over inside of 10 minutes.

Mind you, I did put in several hours of hard work behind the scenes to get it to this point.

The best bit was handing out the Volunteer of the Year Award.  It's not that easy in a group like ours to determine who should get it, because every single member works their heart out.

Mary - on the right hand side, is part of our garden group, helps in the kitchen, is the first to put her hand up, and has raised roughly $500 making and selling lemon curd.  She's helped restore furniture and is generally everyone's best friend.

It was a complete surprise to her - and it was the best occasion ever.
