Crocodile Rock!

After the pouring rain all day yesterday and seeing the forecast for Livingston was pretty much mist / fog all day today, we decided to head a bit further afield for a wee day out today. So, we drove west, parked the car at Largs, jumped on the ferry and went over to the Isle of Cumbrae.

Ethan was so excited to be going on a ferry ... but even more excited when he then realised we had to get on the bus on the island in order to get to Millport. Who'd have thought a boring old bus would be even more exciting than a ferry!

We then hired bikes and set off for a cycle ride round the island. Hubbie drew the short straw and had Ethan on the back of his bike. We stopped off for a wee picnic on the way and watching the ferry coming and going. Another wee break later for an ice-cream at the coffee shop, before back to Millport. Playtime at the playpark (where Ethan fell over in the boggy grass and got soaked from head to toe)! Fun on the boat swings. A new toy boat purchased in the local tourist shop (now Ethan's new pride and joy), a clamber over the famous crocodile rock, then back on the bus, ferry, a chippie dinner in Largs and back home again.

What a great day it was although I suspect my legs will be really sore tomorrow from all that cycling!
