Les Grangettes clean up

Today was the annual clean up at Les Grangettes nature reserve. A day when much of the wood brought down by the river is collected and taken away by helicopter (see extra)and lots of rubbish is picked up. The reed area was much cleaner after we’d spent the morning there.

This year there was only about 1/10th of the usual wood due to the lack of precipitation and, hence, less water in the river. Huge areas of the reed beds had been flattened by the Wild Boars. Today we collected an incredible number of Q-tips, plastic bottles, pieces of plastic plant pots and balls.
