The dropped stitch

Common of Kirk

A Sunday walk in the South Parish. What a joy to be out walking and feeling some warmth from the sun.

This croft house stands all on its own near the footpath.

When I got home and searched for its name I found it was once part of a farmstead called Common of Kirk.  It's marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6" map (1882) as one roofed and one unroofed building and one enclosure and a field with a roofed building in the middle.
