Titan

The Titan crane is the one from when this dock was John Brown's Shipyards in Clydebank, builders of the QEII and Lusitania among many, many others. Today, only the crane and a plaque remains as the dock has been repurposed into a college and sports centre with a wonderful walkway along a length of the Clyde.
On the opposite bank is farmland and plenty of birdlife, which suits me just fine. Curlews were calling, as were the skylarks. Teal, mallards and wigeon dabbled around the still river. A cormorant dried its wings perched on some flotsam. A flock of peewits rose then settled.
I felt at ease with myself today walking Archie (my dog) along the river. I was in no hurry to be anywhere. Just an in-breath and out-breath and kissing the earth with each step. Walking as a titan of awareness. Of crocuses and early daffodils. Of the town bell chiming the quarter hour. Of the mix of water as the Cart river joined the Clyde. As a raven calling from atop the crane. Blissful. All just the very thing.
