Kitsch

I woke up very early in our “cell” so went out for coffee and a walk around for an hour, as my daughter was still fast asleep. So lovely to be out and about before most, a walk up the castle and beyond. It was chilly but sunny, glad I brought gloves and a hat.
R eventually got up, and we had booked brunch at Tani Modi, on Hanover St, it was really good. I’m just not keen on having to book everything and give the credit card number every time. The times of just dropping in somewhere to eat serendipitously are long gone in Edinburgh.
We had a great time shopping and wondering around. We walked to the Festival Theatre in the evening to see Rambert Dance, Peaky Blinders show. It was really good, what amazing dancers. After we went for supper to Mother India for a delicious meal, it was just very loud, there were only 7 tables, but the clientele were totally shouting and cackling at that time of night. My ears were ringing after! We went back to the cell, as R was very tired, her old mum would have probably gone for a couple of drinks!
