Bocksmühle

The buildings in this picture are currently a farmhouse with barns. But until 1967 it was the Bocksmühle in Rodau. Mühle means mill, and Bock is the family name of the miller (Bock means buck). The village Rodau had up to four mills, three of them in the creek Rodau, one in the Mühlgraben. The creek was sometimes dry and sometimes flooding, or looking like a landfill, so the mills could never run regularly, and poverty was the result.
