Cold Day In The Sun

Temperatures are barely above freezing today but the clear blue skies have meant there is plenty of sun. Indeed, it is quite pleasant to be outside as long as you stay in the direct sunlight.
I was struck by how good the vase of flowers in front of the fire looked in the afternoon sun as it streamed through the lounge window. We have deliberately stuck things in front of the fire this winter to discourage us from turning it on, especially on cold evenings. The plan seems to have worked as our energy account is considerably in credit after the latest meter readings. Not that our monthly payment is going to come down - that seems to be far too simple for them - instead, they’re leaving the payment as it is and we’re getting a refund of the credit amount. Might be enough to buy a new guitar with though, so clouds/silver linings and all that!
First dress rehearsal for Blackadder tonight. Or it might be the tech rehearsal. I’m not sure anyone knows what is actually happening. All I know is that we are yet to do a full run of the show, from curtain up to curtain down, which is slightly concerning when the first night is only three days away!
Hopefully, the old adage will hold true and it will be “alright on the night”!
